IELTS Writing寫作部分首段Introduction (Writing Tasks 1 & 2)和尾段Conclusion (Writing Task 2)，分別需要重覆題目和歸納內文論點。 不過，如果多次重覆字眼，Writing Task評分準則中的“lexical resource”部分就會大量扣分。 所以，考生必須掌握以下4招Paraphrasing的技巧，把同義字詞或句子parahrase到耳目一新。 一、同義詞 (synonym) 最簡單的方法，就是用同義詞去替換相同字詞。以下是一些常用例子： ．cars = motor vehicles ．companies = businesses ．teenagers = adolescents ．the development = the growth/ expansion of ．the government should = the authorities ought to ．should not be allowed = should be banned ．to put people off from =to deter/prevent people from ．solve the problem = resolve the issue ．causes = reasons ．such as = for instance ．beneficial = adventageous ．negative impact = detrimental/ damaging/ harmful effect ！注意！ 對於專有名詞的替換，要很 小心相似而非相同的概念 ，例如town(小城鎮) 不等於city(大城市)，vegetarian(會吃雞蛋牛奶等動物產品的素食者)不等於vegan (完全素食者)。 二、改變詞性 (word form) 當然，Paraphrasing不一定是找同義詞的遊戲，如果想不到同義詞，改動詞性也是聰明的做法。 ．It is of utmost importance (n.)= It is very important (adj.)… ．The plan was implemented (v.) successfully (adv)=The successful (adj) im

無論是IELTS/ DSE/ GMAT/ GRE/ TOFEL的英文作文部分， 迅狐 認為，靈活利用多元化英文句型，是最有用的特分技巧之一。 因為，如果只用深奧的vocab，但句型卻只能用上最簡單的Subject-Verb-Object (S-V-O) structure，就像一套破舊西裝上面，襯上亮麗的領呔，考官會覺得很awkward。 迅狐 建議，可以利用以下5種特別句型顯示grammar功架（可以準備checklist逐個tick，make sure自己盡用5種句型)： 1.  Passive voice  (被動式） 例句一、Such measures  should be  quickly  adopted  to… (= The government should quickly adopt such measures to …) 例句二、 Such problems could be tackled by  … (= We can tackle such problems by…) 2.  Relative clause : 例句一、The authorities should adopt  these measures. These measures  can help… → The authorities should adopt these measures  which  can help… 例句二、The authorities should adopt  these measures. Under these measures , citizens can… → The authorities should adopt these measures  under which  citizens can… 3.  Conditionals  (If — then): Type 0 (真理): If water  reaches  100 °C, it  boils . GMAT 的 Analyitcal Writing Assessment (AWA) 部分，要求考生在30分鐘之內，寫一篇大約400字的5段式的文章（雖然官方沒正式要求，但要取5-6分必備）。如用5–8分鐘審題及起草大綱，就只得22–25分鐘爆400字。對亞洲地區的考生來說，尤為吃力。 迅狐 認為，如果擔心趕不及在半小時內想出3大論點、寫出400字，最好的辦法，是準備一個任何題目也可用到的萬用template。一進場，就把背好的「罐頭句式」馬上傾倒出來。 因此， 迅狐 設計了這個萬用AWA寫作模板template，幫助大家爭取更多時間思考寫作內容 。只要跟著這個template去寫，也不愁寫不出5段式400字英文文章。 開首段落 (introduction): 1. 終於來到考GMAT的大日子…

GMAT 全名為 G raduate M anagement A dmission T est。本地及海外的頂尖碩士/研究生課程，幾乎都需求GMAT/ GRE考試達到一定的分數。以香港科技大學(HKUST)為例，報讀其full-time MSC in Finance就必須提交GMAT或GRE的成績。一般而言，商學院較看重GMAT。因為GMAT考試設計本身就是專為商學院而設，連官網也直接叫做 www.mba.com 。 GMAT總分是800分。全球頂尖商學院學生的平均GMAT分數，一般在710以上。 不少考生把目標定在700分以上。不過，事實上，2/3的考生也考不到600分以上。 那麼，如果想報考優秀商學院，我可以像考IELTS一樣，不斷重刷直至考到想要的分數嗎？ 不行。GMAT規定，12個月內最多只能考5次，每次至少相隔16日。最重要的是， 每人一生只可考8次 ！ 因此，必須好好備戰，不要浪費每一次機會！                     GMAT一共考3個小時零7分鐘，考試分為4個部分，主要考核學生的邏輯分析、數學及語文能力。 總分800分是由Verbal和Quantitative兩個部分計算出來的 ，一考完 即時知道分數 。 AWA和Intergrated Reasoning分數會單獨列出在成績單上。AWA在收到正式report時才知道分數。雖然不計在800分，但MBA、法律、文科等看重學生語文水平及邏輯能力，因此同樣不容忽視。 （一）分析性寫作(AWA)：30分鐘，寫一篇大約400–500字文章（其實官方沒說明字數要求，但字數太少難以展現structure及lexical resource）。6分滿分。 題目是一篇100字左右的（看起來合理，但必然有誤的）argument。你的任務是寫一篇文章去分析其謬誤（flaws）。 時間分配好重要！迅狐建議 ， 先用5–10分鐘，用技巧找出最少3個logical flaws，定下寫作大綱(5段式：開頭->3個flaws->結尾)， 把已預備好的開頭結尾萬能句型馬上打出來。 餘下20分鐘，大量運用百搭句型及vocab。最後給自己3分鐘檢查全文，清除spelling和grammatical mistakes。要取5.5至6分，其實不難。   延伸閱讀： 英文寫作必備Paraphrasing技巧 英文作文考試
